New antennae will aid challenging GPS surveying

27/08/2010
Two new antennae have been launched by Hemisphere GPS that the company says will aid surveying in particularly challenging environments.

The A52 and A21 can work for a range of applications, including post-processed geodetic surveys, machine control, precise mapping and surveying.

The good multipath mitigation of the model, along with stable phase centres and strong SNRs – even at low elevations – mean that the antennae provide excellent signals even when working among dense buildings or foliage.

The A52 is a multi-GNSS precision antenna, ideal for RTK positioning and navigation and precise guidance, while the A21 is already used for aerial application guidance and flow control, receiving GPS L1, SBAS and Omnistar L-band signals.

It is designed to maintain its tracking of GPS and differential correction signals in high electrical 'noise' and interference environments and in dynamic applications where the antenna may be turned on its side.

Both models have rugged enclosures, which comply with an IP69K environmental rating, metal bases and 5/8-inch threaded connectors for secure mounting to survey poles, tripods, vehicle mounts and more.

Calibrations for the A52 and A21 have been published by the US National Geodetic Survey.
