![]() The security of GNSS networks and equipment will be the main subject of discussion at the Munich Satellite Navigation Summit 2012 in March, which is seen by many as Europe's leading event for the geospatial navigation and measuring industry.
The event, which is being held in the famed Residenz München on March 13-15, will feature high-ranking industry, scientific and governmental speakers from around the world. They will illuminate the most important recent developments in the technology and legislation that governs satellite navigation round the globe. The Opening Plenary Panel of the technical programme of the conference will be entitled GNSS and Security, after which will take place a number of further plenary discussions on the matter. The organisers of the event have said that they hope the 2012 summit will serve to highlight the creation of new applications and services in satellite navigation, and how they apply to telecommunications, information technology and geo-information technology. Speakers that have been firmly secured for the summit so far will discuss topics including the modernisation of the US Global Positioning System and GPS-III, the advancing development of the European system, Galileo, and the more recently announced Japanese and Indian forays into the sector. |
