![]() Maritime GNSS positioning and navigation technology will be the focus of a key one-day conference being staged at the Oceanology International 2012 trade fair in London in March.
The Navigating and Positioning conference – entitled Putting Technology To Work – will feature a keynote address from the Research Director of the General Lighthouse Authorities of the UK, Dr Nick Ward. Dr Ward specialises in maritime radio-navigation and communications, used both to navigate craft and position maritime works and developments. There will be a number of addresses throughout the day, which will see top speakers from around the world cover subjects including the use of GNSS or GPS based real-time tidal information in offshore survey applications and the use of GNSS technology to provide dynamic calibration of navigation sensors. The organiser of Oceanology International, James Coleman, said, “Dr Ward’s keynote address is bound to get the Navigation & Positioning conference off to a flying start, and further emphasise the theme of this stream of the Oceanology International conference. Nine other highly apposite presentations follow his address during a highly relevant and thought-provoking day.” Oceanology International 2012 will welcome 525 exhibitors from 29 countries across the globe to the ExCeL centre in London’s Docklands between March 13-15 this year. |
